CLIMATE-ADAPT4EOSC

Adaptation to climate change has become a central focus for researchers across various fields, including climate science, environmental science, urban planning, information science and social science, to support policymakers in making informed decisions to build a climate-prepared and resilient society.

The major challenges in achieving this goal are (i) lack of seamless interaction between platforms, data spaces, and users, (ii) poor data interoperability as well as service interoperability, (iii) lack of infrastructural support for generating FAIR data, and (iv) legal barriers hindering access to data.

CLIMATE-ADAPT4EOSC aims to overcome these challenges by providing an EOSC-centred collaborative research environment equipped with existing EOSC data and services and extended with new data and services, such as Interoperability, FAIRification, Research Results Publishing as Open Data, Data Adaptation, Data Format Compliancy, Mapping and Entity Matching, enabling interoperability and seamless interaction of data that allow the creation of extended services, e.g. Big Data Analytics for climate risk assessments.

Sikt’s role in the project will primarily be related to organisational interoperability. We will also engage in the further development of the Cross-Domain Interoperability Framework CDIF and other interoperability related tasks in the project.

FIDELIS

Sikt will be at the center of developing a network of Trustworthy Digital Repositories in FIDELIS. Our involvement includes the structuring and governance of the network, along with defining and establishing guidance for a Trustworthy Digital Repository.

At the end of the project a European network of Trustworthy Digital Repositories is well established. This Network will be invaluable for any researcher, data producer or institution who wish to preserve and share their data FAIR for the future.

  • Budget Sikt: 518 625 €
  • Project period: 1 January 2025 - 31 December 2027

SoGreen: Sosiale aspekter av det grønne skiftet

The SoGreen project enhances four leading European survey infrastructures (ESS (European Social Survey) ERIC , SHARE (Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe) ERIC, GGP (Gender and generations programme), and GUIDE (Growing Up In Digital Europe)) to study the social aspects of the green transition across generations and socioeconomic groups using a life-course perspective. It develops innovative tools, including the Green Transition Questionnaire Module, geospatial data integration, and a dissemination platform, to foster interdisciplinary insights, harmonize data, and engage diverse stakeholders in shaping green transition policies.

Sikt plays a key role in processing, curating, and publishing data, ensuring compliance with FAIR principles, and managing the projects data portal. It also develops and evaluates environmental indicators for integrating climate data with surveys, supporting seamless, high-quality data dissemination.

Infra4NextGen

The Infra4NextGen project supports the Next Generation EU programme and EU yuroouth policy by leveraging outputs from key European survey infrastructures to address five themes: Make it Green, Make it Digital, Make it Healthy, Make it Strong, and Make it Equal. Over four years, it will provide virtual access to curated research services through specialized portals to enhance usability and policy impact.

Sikt's role involves customizing CRONOS (Cross National Online Survey) data for processing, curation, and publication while managing virtual access through an enhanced CRONOS portal.

This portal links web panel data to original ESS rounds, enabling data analysis across 11 European countries. A new landing page will streamline data discovery and improve accessibility via the ESS and Infra4NextGen websites.
